Starting at the bottom

In a test of the American Dream, Adam Shepard started life from scratch with the clothes on his back and twenty-five dollars. Ten months later, he had an apartment, a car, and a small savings.

What would you do if you found yourself starting from zero in a foreign city?

Interesting article.

I was amused by some of the reviews of his book, over at Amazon. Predictably, there were those putting his success down to being a "privileged male" etc, etc. And the fact that he disagrees with (whiny feminist) Barbara Ehrenreich seems to have irritated at least one person...

I'll add this one to my (ever-expanding) list of books to read, I think.

Hi Rick.

I also have too many books to read! In the last few years I've gone a bit crazy buying too many books. This year I made a new resolution to read one book cover-to-cover each week. I'm not sticking to it so far as I don't have enough time. So I've shifted it to one every two weeks. Time will tell how this plan goes!
