Interesting article on rape

Guardian website contains a reasonable article on rape!

Wow, what a shock! Will wonders never cease!?

Predictably there are thousands of hysterical comments posted by lefty women. But there are also some reasonable comments on there. One of my favourites was:

What worries me - as a man - is a woman's ability to convince herself something didn't happen. Or she's now decided she didn't want it to happen.

My own wife is the most appalling liar. She will look you in the face and bleat for a good 20 minutes that what you know to be the case isn't. Years later she will apologise and say she 'got in a panic'.

A couple of years ago I met the person to whom I lost my virginity. I made a joke about it as she had a well-know relation. I told her I joked that I lost it to Mr X's Xrelation.

She look me straight in the face and told me it never happened. Now, sure, she was rather free in her schoolday favours, but she had genuinely convinced herself of a new sexual history.

So what really worries men is this: a women wakes up in the cold light of day and thinks 'that shouldn't have happened'. Then 'I didn't want that to happen'. Then 'I must have been forced...yes, I was forced'.

Real rape is life sentence for the victim. Re-written history rape could be a life sentence for the man.

The Reality Method blog offers an in-depth analysis on this process typical of western women. He calls it "Backward Rationalization."

Check it out.

Thanks to feminist teachings and a modern Western “follow your heart” and “trust your emotions” mentality, I think an increasing number of women use backwards rationalization in ordinary, everyday situations (as the first two examples showed), or literally any and every time it would even be a little convenient to put it into play.

Because of this, I happen to think that modern Western (and especially American) women are more divorced from reality than women at any other time since probably the Victorian era.

The comments on that article were hilarious. They don't object to whats said, but rather the idea that they should take responsibility to avoid rape situations.

Thats like walking into the Lion's cage at the Zoo, then saying its all the Lion's fault when he eats you.

Ass-backwards logic indeed.

The Bible on rape (seems to be: you break, you buy):

Deuteronomy 22 (New International Version)
28 If a man happens to meet a virgin who is not pledged to be married and rapes her and they are discovered, 29 he shall pay the girl's father fifty shekels of silver. [c] He must marry the girl, for he has violated her. He can never divorce her as long as he lives.

Deuteronomy 22 (King James Version)

28If a man find a damsel that is a virgin, which is not betrothed, and lay hold on her, and lie with her, and they be found;

29Then the man that lay with her shall give unto the damsel's father fifty shekels of silver, and she shall be his wife; because he hath humbled her, he may not put her away all his days.

Deuteronomy 22 (New American Standard Bible)

28"(O)If a man finds a girl who is a virgin, who is not engaged, and seizes her and lies with her and they are discovered,

29then the man who lay with her shall give to the girl's father fifty shekels of silver, and she shall become his wife because he has violated her; he cannot divorce her all his days.

Why don't 'christian' nations follow this? Why have they never done so?

Deuteronomy 22 (New International Version)
22 If a man is found sleeping with another man's wife, both the man who slept with her and the woman must die. You must purge the evil from Israel.

23 If a man happens to meet in a town a virgin pledged to be married and he sleeps with her, 24 you shall take both of them to the gate of that town and stone them to deathhh—the girl because she was in a town and did not scream for help, and the man because he violated another man's wife. You must purge the evil from among you.

25 But if out in the country a man happens to meet a girl pledged to be married and rapes her, only the man who has done this shall die. 26 Do nothing to the girl; she has committed no sin deserving death. This case is like that of someone who attacks and murders his neighbor, 27 for the man found the girl out in the country, and though the betrothed girl screamed, there was no one to rescue her.

22If a man be found lying with a woman married to an husband, then they shall both of them die, both the man that lay with the woman, and the woman: so shalt thou put away evil from Israel.

23If a damsel that is a virgin be betrothed unto an husband, and a man find her in the city, and lie with her;

24Then ye shall bring them both out unto the gate of that city, and ye shall stone them with stones that they die; the damsel, because she cried not, being in the city; and the man, because he hath humbled his neighbour's wife: so thou shalt put away evil from among you.

25But if a man find a betrothed damsel in the field, and the man force her, and lie with her: then the man only that lay with her shall die.

26But unto the damsel thou shalt do nothing; there is in the damsel no sin worthy of death: for as when a man riseth against his neighbour, and slayeth him, even so is this matter:

27For he found her in the field, and the betrothed damsel cried, and there was none to save her.

28If a man find a damsel that is a virgin, which is not betrothed, and lay hold on her, and lie with her, and they be found;

29Then the man that lay with her shall give unto the damsel's father fifty shekels of silver, and she shall be his wife; because he hath humbled her, he may not put her away all his days.

30A man shall not take his father's wife, nor discover his father's skirt.

Deuteronomy 22 (New American Standard Bible)
22"(M)If a man is found lying with a married woman, then both of them shall die, the man who lay with the woman, and the woman; thus you shall purge the evil from Israel.

23"(N)If there is a girl who is a virgin engaged to a man, and another man finds her in the city and lies with her,

24then you shall bring them both out to the gate of that city and you shall stone them to death; the girl, because she did not cry out in the city, and the man, because he has violated his neighbor's wife. Thus you shall purge the evil from among you.

25"But if in the field the man finds the girl who is engaged, and the man forces her and lies with her, then only the man who lies with her shall die.

26"But you shall do nothing to the girl; there is no sin in the girl worthy of death, for just as a man rises against his neighbor and murders him, so is this case.

27"When he found her in the field, the engaged girl cried out, but there was no one to save her.

30"(P)A man shall not take his father's wife so that he will not uncover his father's skirt.
