Promoting fatherless families

"A potent and successful campaign was fought in the 1960s to erase all these distinctions and treat all women bringing up children in the absence of a father as if they were the same. I believe the purpose of that campaign was to remove the social and moral barrier against those adults who chose to raise children outside marriage." Peter Hitchens

Its hilarious to watch conservative groups and the church get their panties in a twist over the prospect of gay marriage (something that only a tiny proportion of the population will engage in, and has few direct consequences on marriage itself) yet they have done nothing about the FAR larger threat to marriage and civilised society posed by the destruction of the nuclear family and the notion that fathers are important.
